The studio
Acmacore is an independent software studio based in Washington, United States. We design and build our own applications — no client work, no outside investors, no growth targets set by anyone but us.
The studio is deliberately small. Design and engineering happen at the same desk, so decisions take minutes instead of meetings, and nothing gets lost in translation between the person who imagines a feature and the person who builds it.
What we believe
- Restraint. Every feature has to earn its place. Most of our work is deciding what to leave out, so that what remains can be done properly.
- Attention is borrowed, not owned. Good software does its job and returns you to your life. We don't build engagement loops, and we never will.
- Longevity. We build things we intend to maintain for years. Boring, proven technology over fashionable dependencies; fewer promises, kept.
How we work
Each application begins as something we needed ourselves and couldn't find done well. We build slowly, test with small groups of trusted users, and ship only when the software meets the standard we'd hold anyone else to.
We're not looking for client work or partnerships, but we read everything sent to us — see contact.
